Getting Started
Membership in Nation of Neighbors is currently open to anyone in the United States with a valid email address or cell phone number. Enter your phone number or email address on our home page at www.nationofneighbors.com and we will send you a short invitation code. Please note that your carrier may charge for text messages.
Why require an invitation code?
This small barrier to entry helps us maintain high quality membership and data. The referral system also helps us avoid 'members' who would sign up to post spam. The referral system also helps ensure that we can limit growth to a manageable level and focus on growth at the local level when new community groups are added.
More about invitation codes
Invitation codes sent by email or text message expire after 30 days. Invitation codes sent by regular mail or printed on Nation of Neighbors promotional cards expire after 1 year.
Registration
You will need to provide your invitation code, real first and last name, valid email address and primary physical location.
Nation of Neighbors is about building trust and a working relationship between community members and the community and law enforcement. Members are strongly encouraged to use their real names - 'usernames' are prohibited. Your last name will only be shown to other members in your community and to law enforcement officials.
Your location determines which community groups you are eligible to join and which reports you receive alerts for. Other members will not have access to your location.
Please read our Security and Privacy page for a complete description of who has access to your information.
Law enforcement members
Law enforcement members within Nation of Neighbors are denoted by a small gold shield next to their name. Law Enforcement members may add and update their rank on their account page and have access to additional report details and contact options not available to non law enforcement members. To become a law Enforcement member you must be a member of an agency with an active Nation of Neighbors presence (Agency Group) and be listed on the Law Enforcement Agency Verification Form on file with Nation of Neighbors.
Nation of Neighbors Star Rank System
