New NoN members

Lt. Troy Brazie
Woodstock Police Department

Posted 1 year, 7 months, and 16 days ago

I would like to begin by welcoming all the new members of NoN, especially those in Georgia from the recent media releases in the Metro Atl. area.

By joining NoN you have taken a proactive first step towards making your neighborhood a safer place to live and play, for that I commend you.

If you have created a community congratulations, now the work starts.  Talk with your neighbors, utilize the flyers available for you to print, speak with your local Law Enforcement agency and encourage them to join, send out the information in your newsletter, do whatever it takes to spread the word.

Regardless of where or how you learned about NoN you found it to be a valuable tool to make a difference where you live, so much so that you took the time to join.  Your not alone, everyone wants to live in a safe community and NoN can make a difference.

All I would ask is that you don't allow your enthusiasm for this program to die.  It takes effort, not a lot but the more people involved the greater potential for success.

If there is anything I can do to assist you in your efforts please feel free to contact me.

It is encouraging to see Woodstock PD and many communities in Cherokee County firmly behind this program. I am hoping it will catch on in my county, Clayton also. I have been an fierce advocate for publishing crime stats publicly for over a decade to no avail. Finally, a tool has emerged that helps promote accountability and transparency from law enforcement to its citizens. It also demands accountability to the community which is just as important.

No More Daily or Weekly Digests

Starting today, NoN will no longer send daily or weekly digests. This feature was used by less than 5% of our members and conflicted with upcoming changes. Existing digest subscriptions have been converted to instant notifications.

New Text Messaging System

I am pleased to report that we will be rolling out an entirely new text messaging system over the next few days. In addition to receiving local alerts, you will also be able to share information with your community directly from your phone.
