I was outside at midnight on 5/28/10 taking photos of the full moon when Zoey began barking wildly at something nearby. When I saw that it was a coyote, I chased it away and put Zoey back in the house! Whew! Another close call!!! I've been spotting this critter several times a week lately. Seems he's feeling right at home in our neighborhood! Has anyone else had any coyote sightings or stories to share?

A couple years ago my small dog Zoey was attacked in our back yard by a coyote. Luckily I was nearby and was able to rescue her although she was badly hurt and needed vet care.

On Wednesday (May 5th), I was working in the yard and spotted a coyote crossing Hickory Lane headed into the Johnson's yard from the brush beside our yard. Just thought I'd warn all of our neighbors with small pets!

Here are a couple of reasons for me wanting to start up a neighborhood watch... I've had two thefts to my Honda Accord while it was parked in our driveway.

The first break-in happened about a year ago when I accidentally left my car unlocked overnight. The second theft took place just this past July. This time the right, rear passenger window was smashed and a laptop and other computer related items were taken. Since then, I've been keeping a look-out for any strange activity and have noticed that there is a car (with a noisy muffler) that routinely takes a slow tour thru our neighborhood between the hours of midnight and 5am. At first I thought it might be the police making their rounds, but they don't typically have loud mufflers, do they?

I'd just LOVE to find the person who broke into my car. Could it have been the same person both times? Have any of you had similar break-ins or seen anything that you thought looked suspicious? Let's use this blog site to keep in touch not only as a neighborhood watch, but as a way to get to know each other better!
